Sydney International Spa & Beauty Expo

Spa is the best thing that you can go for while you feel stress and tired. It is a luxury and leisure activities that you can do to refresh yourself and take a break from your studies and work. Now, it is a good time for us to review on the attraction in Sydney International Spa & Beauty Expo this year. Sydney International Spa & Beauty Expo aimed to attract those who want to know the latest trends or news for Spa and beauty. Especially for those women love beauty, love Spa, love make-up and anything that related to beauty.

Article from Professional Beauty about Sydney International Spa & Beauty Expo gave audiences a very details information on what the Expo provided. Including the brands about business beauty from different countries, innovative new beauty products which can attract investors and visitors. It did give us an overview of those business who have joined the Expo. However, it was a bit boring for the readers to read through all the materials there. As the story did not include any interlink, video or interesting stuffs. It only included a picture at the top of the story.

On the other hand, the daily telegraph focus on giving an overview of the stalls in Expo. It is a lifestyle story which targeted on the readers who are visitors. Author suggested people to have a look at the catwalk show, makeup awards, nail awards etc. Most importantly, the author introduced the readers to go and try for a new manicure at the Nail Bar paired with a sneaky martini in the Minx Nails Lounge. This is a good suggestion for the readers who have read to go and have a try.

However, the professionalbeauty.com.au focus more on business beauty. For visitors, it will be a piece of boring news that will not attract them keep reading through. In contrast, it may be useful for the investors or beauty businessman.

Cosmetics Surgery to Success?

Does hiring really based on looks/ appearance? Blogger Dr. Benchetrit tried to bring out a linkage between success of women in workforce and plastic surgery. Does plastic surgery really bring successful to a women's job? In his blog, he gave out a few reasons on how plastic surgery will change a woman's future. Having plastic surgery will not only increase women's confident. Furthermore, it will also increase their perceive value and becoming more competitive in the job market. Is it really worth spending the money to change your appearance?  Dr. Benchetrit listed out few statistics to show  the positive relationship of plastic surgery and successful in the job market.

An American Society Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) conducted a survey with 756 women:

  • 13 percent (more than 1 out of 10 of the 115-million working-age women) say they would consider having a cosmetic medical procedure specifically to make them more confident and more competitive in the job market.
  • An astounding 3 percent (nearly 3.5-million working women) say they’ve already had a cosmetic procedure to increase their perceived value in the workplace.
  • 73 percent (almost three out of four or, 84-million working women) believe, particularly in these challenging economic times, appearance and youthful looks play a part in getting hired, getting a promotion, or getting new clients.
  • 80 percent (four out of five or 92-million working women) think having cosmetic medical procedures can boost a person’s confidence

Does it really shows that there is an increasing number of people having plastic surgery indicated of getting a better job?  Dr. Benchetrit used the statistics from ASPS to support its arguments.
The author tried to take the message stronger by interviewing the insurance broker, Janice Axelord to talk about what are the advantages of looking good in this competitive society. He quoted " Time has given me the professional knowledge. But time can take away the youthful sparkle of my appearance if I let it. When you look good, you feel confident. That gives me a competitive edge and something my clients have come to expect from me. We can get a really strong message here from Janice that she can gain from the society and working environment.   In my opinion, using the interviewee Janice as an example can strongly convinced the readers or pursued them to have a try for plastic surgery.

He ended up with contact details and information about him and the team at COSMEDICA about surgical and non-surgical treatment.

Beauty products (Special edition)

Breast Cancer Awareness month in October aim to  increase the  awareness of people about the importance of breast cancer and raise fund for the organisation. All the beauty products will produce a special edition in pink to show their support. As a certain percentage of the profit gain from sale will be donated to the national breast cancer foundation.

    Above Picture sources

Both Ninemsn and Yahoo provided  beauty slideshows to introduce some of the beauty products that you can get it in pink. Your beauty spot from Ninemsn just briefly introduced one product for each slide. Including the name, price, functionality, the proportion of donation,  availability. However, Shine from Yahoo gave the audiences a more clear and positive message that we have "19 ways to support Breast Cancer awareness". The author from this article didn't only give out the information to the readers straight away. Instead, it used another way to deliver a message that we can beneficial from the products and also donated to the national breast cancer foundation at the same time.

In my opinion, although Shine from Yahoo and Your beauty spot from Ninemsn provided a similar outline. However, the article from Shine Yahoo can deliver a clearer and strong take away message to the audiences.

The sexiest fragrance-Victoria's secret

Victoria's secret is one of the famous brand selling lingerie in the world. Launch of the new Bombshell fragrance will surely be one of the hot topic in beauty news. The author, Laurenburvill who wrote the article Victoria's Secret launches fragrance did not mention any details about the fragrance. Instead, she has used another way to convey her thoughts on the promotion events and the advertisement of Bombshell fragrance. Laurenburyill talked about the brand image of Victoria's Secret which is pretty and sexy rather than introducing their product straightly. The most eye catching things from the article are the picture and video. Also, you can share your thoughts on other social networking sites.

However, the other similar article Victoria's Secret to Launch New Bombshell Fragrance in September; Models Help Celebrate gave us more details and story behind the scene. The author started off the story by introducing the Victoria's secret's models such as Alessandra Ambrosio, Miranda Kerr and Candice Swanepoel. The author, Grace Gold did a really good description on the unique smell of the fragrance, "feature notes of purple passion fruit, Shangri-La peony and vanilla orchid. Also, Grace used quotes to make the message much stronger and pointed out the nice smell of the fragrance. In the story by Grace Gold, she gave us good linkages and details about the artists, the fragrances and more. It may encourage readers to go and search, buy or interest on it. However, less images and no video shown in her article.

Miss Universe Australia

Miss Universe is a World-wide event that will hold in different countriesMiss Universe 2010 held in Las Vegas this year. It is an annual event that will gather the beauties all over the world into a competition to win the title of "Miss Universe". This year, Miss Mexico Jimena Navarrete won the champion this year. Followed by Miss Jamaica Yendi Phillipp and the third place, Miss Australia Jesinta Campbell.

I think the author, Sarah McInerney did really well on giving a clear story to the audience. She focuses mainly on the progress of how did Miss Australia prepare for her day in the competition. The author followed her twitter in order to get the everyday news such as parties, rehearsals and daily news from her. She quotes her updates from twitter saying that "Practice makes perfect. A few more hours 2 go until rehearsals r done. Ps I MET DONALD TRUMP TODAY, nice guy with kind words 4 all of us!"

In this short story, she gave us a very brief idea on the personality of Jesinta Campbell and what difficulties she faced during the competition. Furthermore, she quotes on how Jesinta Campbell answered the questions during the competition which brings the audiences into the picture/ scene of the competition.

The secret of younger skin

I have read two different articles about the tips of getting younger skin. The first one from Yahoo lifestyle: Your Younger-Skin Strategy and the other article from a blog talking about Younger Skin Tips- Skin Anti Aging for firm skin-smoother skin .I found that the article posted by Yahoo lifestyle is quite different from a forum post. Both articles listed out some tips which can make us look younger and how to get a healthy skin.

Structure

The above picture show us the structure of the article "Your Younger-Skin Strategy" from Yahoo lifestyle. It clearly listed out the strategy by numbering them 1-7. To increase its credibility,  author used quotes "The most important time to clean your face is before you go to bed" from Dermatologist doctor, Stephen Shumack of Sydney's Royal North Shore Hospital. She listed out some products that related to each strategy for readers as a reference. It is easy for the readers to read and understand, however, not creative enough.
I found that the article posted in a blog is much more creative and informative. It included video, pictures, tags sub- headings,  interlink etc to help delivering the message of anti-aging.

Content
The story from "Younger Skin strategy" gave us a really useful tips on how can we make our skin looks younger. For example, the importance of using sunscreen to prevent wrinkles and sunspots, eat some food with omega 3's to keep your skin supple and firm. On the other hand, the blog gave us a depth look about how to keep our skin healthy by using videos, her personal advice and share with many social networking sites.

My favourite beauty sites

Cosmopolitan is one of my favourite online websites for beauty news. It is some way different from the beauty news in the newspapers and other websites. Most of their articles with detailed descriptions, linkages, pictures, demostration and related videos. In that way, i I found that they will update their homepage with the most hot topics and recent trends about hair & beauty and celebrities & style regularly.

One of the article headline is 'Hairstyle that get you what you want'. The article shows us 4 different hairstyles applied on the same girl will turn out differently on how she looks. For instance, 1st one for work, 2nd for an afternoon party, 3rd one for an evening dinner and 4th one for a casual look daily.
She started off his story with a strong quotation from an anthropologist by telling us that different hairstyle will change on how people perceived a woman's image. It attracts readers' attention to keep on reading it and find out the hairstyles that suitable for them in different occasion and time.

Her story gave us a very detailed process on how to create a different look by using simple equipments and accessories. For example, the hair spray, the mousse, gel that we need to use are simple and we can buy it in any supermarket or salon. Those related video are clear with caption, clear step of demonstration and providing great advice for the readers.
Nice and organized layout of the page can clearly direct us to the right place. Also, we can share, print, post it on facebook or twitter and make comments on it.

The art of hair

This time, i read an article about how to keep your hair nice and tidy in this summer..It's very important for us to know that having your long hair looks smooth and shiny in summer is not an easy job. The author, Dayna got a really good sense in identifying the problem of having a long hair and bangs, such as flying everywhere and sticky. Afterwards, a suggestion on the products that readers can use to keep their hair shine and healthy.

She links her story with the shop called "The Little Hair Shoppe" by introducing the products to the readers. Despite of the problem we faced in the summer, she also demostrated the way that we can style our hair differently and how it matches with other accessories.

Most importantly, the author put in some interlinks through out her stories which allows us to know more details about the products and other informations that we need to find. Pictures made the stories more interesting to read and clear on how are we interpreting the news. I found that she can deliver the message to us effectively by her clear structure, simple and life-related. Also, i found that 'sharing of beauty products' and some advice from, say make-up artist or stylist is very important for writing a beauty news. It can convey what the author wants to point out more efficiently.

At last, Dayna mentioned the phone number, address and the website to us for reference.

I am going to try to follow her steps and make it myself.
Have a look and see if u think that's work or not XP

Beauty around the World

I found a website about Entertainment including movies, tv, fashion, beauty etc recently. It was a very good website to updating yourself with the news from beauty everyday. The advantage of this website give us information about what have been changing in the beauty industry everyday, the hair style of the season, celebrities news which is related to beauty products and introduction of some editor's choices of beauty products to the users.

I read one of the news wriiten by Victoria Joy, heading "A-List Celebrity Beauty". The author used a really extractive sentence to attract readers' attention for further reading. "We’ve tracked down the latest and greatest beauty and skincare innovations from around the world and asked the people in the know why they’re so fantastic."  By quoting this in the story will attract the readers follow your story to find out what is the secret of beauty of those celebrities

Through out the news, she talked about eye lashes from China, the ultimate formular of fresh and ageless complexion from Milan, hair treatment from London and gelish nail formula from LA. In my opinion, it was an interesting article to read as the writer wrote about the latest news of beauty and skincare innovation from different countries. The writer gave a picture with a short caption of each country she wrote. It was easy to read with the link that we can have a detail look for the particular products or innovative news. Also, she also gave an example of the celebritites who have tried the products before. A price and descriptions of the beauty services which made the readers more clear and interested in finding more about them.

Girls' treasure: Beauty

Every girl love cosmetics! I guess none of you would say NO to this, except boys....LOL

Scientists bring the global beauty industry into a new century. Is Pharmaceutical industry getting over the original industry soon?

I have to say that Cosmeceuticals are very popular nowadays.

Why is it? Let's have a look at the news below and know more details about it.

The news story of "Cosmeceuticals: the beauty business revolution" from Sydney Morning Herald did give us a good explanation on how does the cosmetic products changed into cosmeceuticals. The news story shows a good picture of the typical beauty shots with a close-up of a woman. A clear introduction which telling us that 'Cosmecuticals' have been approved by the new generation. It can make changes to our DNA and most importantly, the anti-ageing processes. It gave important quotes from different professors, dermatologists to increase the credibility of the news. I think the author did a detail research on the recent products that were out in the market. Through out the news, the author mentioned the latest products for different parts of face. It was good to know about that but i am going to broke soon.....

On the other hand, its a bit too long for the readers to read through how they make the products including the processes, the ingredients that they used, how the products affect the biological cells etc.

I am pretty sure that Science Beauty will be the trend in the following years. Girls, Keep an eyes on the latest products and get ready to make over ourselves! :D

P.S. Here comes the picture... the products i bought. They only sell in pharmacy or some particular cosmetic stores. All these are professional medical beauty products. Those on the right are the products from France and those on the left from Japan. I found that it was quite good for some girls with senstitive skins and of course normal skin as well.

Leave me a comment if you want to know more about the products :)

Beauty is my life :)

Beauty is one of the important courses in our life!
