Miss Universe is a World-wide event that will hold in different countries. Miss Universe 2010 held in Las Vegas this year. It is an annual event that will gather the beauties all over the world into a competition to win the title of "Miss Universe". This year, Miss Mexico Jimena Navarrete won the champion this year. Followed by Miss Jamaica Yendi Phillipp and the third place, Miss Australia Jesinta Campbell.
I think the author, Sarah McInerney did really well on giving a clear story to the audience. She focuses mainly on the progress of how did Miss Australia prepare for her day in the competition. The author followed her twitter in order to get the everyday news such as parties, rehearsals and daily news from her. She quotes her updates from twitter saying that "Practice makes perfect. A few more hours 2 go until rehearsals r done. Ps I MET DONALD TRUMP TODAY, nice guy with kind words 4 all of us!"
In this short story, she gave us a very brief idea on the personality of Jesinta Campbell and what difficulties she faced during the competition. Furthermore, she quotes on how Jesinta Campbell answered the questions during the competition which brings the audiences into the picture/ scene of the competition.
