Sydney International Spa & Beauty Expo

Spa is the best thing that you can go for while you feel stress and tired. It is a luxury and leisure activities that you can do to refresh yourself and take a break from your studies and work. Now, it is a good time for us to review on the attraction in Sydney International Spa & Beauty Expo this year. Sydney International Spa & Beauty Expo aimed to attract those who want to know the latest trends or news for Spa and beauty. Especially for those women love beauty, love Spa, love make-up and anything that related to beauty.

Article from Professional Beauty about Sydney International Spa & Beauty Expo gave audiences a very details information on what the Expo provided. Including the brands about business beauty from different countries, innovative new beauty products which can attract investors and visitors. It did give us an overview of those business who have joined the Expo. However, it was a bit boring for the readers to read through all the materials there. As the story did not include any interlink, video or interesting stuffs. It only included a picture at the top of the story.

On the other hand, the daily telegraph focus on giving an overview of the stalls in Expo. It is a lifestyle story which targeted on the readers who are visitors. Author suggested people to have a look at the catwalk show, makeup awards, nail awards etc. Most importantly, the author introduced the readers to go and try for a new manicure at the Nail Bar paired with a sneaky martini in the Minx Nails Lounge. This is a good suggestion for the readers who have read to go and have a try.

However, the professionalbeauty.com.au focus more on business beauty. For visitors, it will be a piece of boring news that will not attract them keep reading through. In contrast, it may be useful for the investors or beauty businessman.

Cosmetics Surgery to Success?

Does hiring really based on looks/ appearance? Blogger Dr. Benchetrit tried to bring out a linkage between success of women in workforce and plastic surgery. Does plastic surgery really bring successful to a women's job? In his blog, he gave out a few reasons on how plastic surgery will change a woman's future. Having plastic surgery will not only increase women's confident. Furthermore, it will also increase their perceive value and becoming more competitive in the job market. Is it really worth spending the money to change your appearance?  Dr. Benchetrit listed out few statistics to show  the positive relationship of plastic surgery and successful in the job market.

An American Society Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) conducted a survey with 756 women:

  • 13 percent (more than 1 out of 10 of the 115-million working-age women) say they would consider having a cosmetic medical procedure specifically to make them more confident and more competitive in the job market.
  • An astounding 3 percent (nearly 3.5-million working women) say they’ve already had a cosmetic procedure to increase their perceived value in the workplace.
  • 73 percent (almost three out of four or, 84-million working women) believe, particularly in these challenging economic times, appearance and youthful looks play a part in getting hired, getting a promotion, or getting new clients.
  • 80 percent (four out of five or 92-million working women) think having cosmetic medical procedures can boost a person’s confidence

Does it really shows that there is an increasing number of people having plastic surgery indicated of getting a better job?  Dr. Benchetrit used the statistics from ASPS to support its arguments.
The author tried to take the message stronger by interviewing the insurance broker, Janice Axelord to talk about what are the advantages of looking good in this competitive society. He quoted " Time has given me the professional knowledge. But time can take away the youthful sparkle of my appearance if I let it. When you look good, you feel confident. That gives me a competitive edge and something my clients have come to expect from me. We can get a really strong message here from Janice that she can gain from the society and working environment.   In my opinion, using the interviewee Janice as an example can strongly convinced the readers or pursued them to have a try for plastic surgery.

He ended up with contact details and information about him and the team at COSMEDICA about surgical and non-surgical treatment.

Beauty products (Special edition)

Breast Cancer Awareness month in October aim to  increase the  awareness of people about the importance of breast cancer and raise fund for the organisation. All the beauty products will produce a special edition in pink to show their support. As a certain percentage of the profit gain from sale will be donated to the national breast cancer foundation.

Both Ninemsn and Yahoo provided  beauty slideshows to introduce some of the beauty products that you can get it in pink. Your beauty spot from Ninemsn just briefly introduced one product for each slide. Including the name, price, functionality, the proportion of donation,  availability. However, Shine from Yahoo gave the audiences a more clear and positive message that we have "19 ways to support Breast Cancer awareness". The author from this article didn't only give out the information to the readers straight away. Instead, it used another way to deliver a message that we can beneficial from the products and also donated to the national breast cancer foundation at the same time.

In my opinion, although Shine from Yahoo and Your beauty spot from Ninemsn provided a similar outline. However, the article from Shine Yahoo can deliver a clearer and strong take away message to the audiences.
